Sunshine makes everything better!

Not only does it put a smile on your face, it also makes it far easier to take photos that do justice to beautiful handmade lampwork glass beads!

I managed to catch the sun to help me take some photos of a couple of bracelets I made last week!

I hope you like them as much as I do!

a mix of sterling silver, glass, Greek ceramic, freshwater pearls and glass lampwork beads
by Trudi Doherty, Sue Reynolds and Angela Gensch.

this last one is a single strand necklace
It's really simple with just clear, colourless glass
interspersed with freshwater pearls and tiny sterling silver beads

why hello!

Real life (i.e. work!) has taken over hence the lack of blog posts and jewellery or in fact anything remotely crafty!

I've been trying really hard though over the last few weeks to spend a little bit of time doing what makes me happy.

Hope you like my new earrings!

Sew happy!

Time management when I'm 'off duty' has never been my strong point. At work it's not a problem but at home it's a different matter!

I've been trying really hard over the last few weeks to spend a bit of time doing what makes me happy.

I made a cushion for my lovely Auntie for her birthday to remind her of our holidays in Cornwall:

I love these ceramic buttons! So pretty and they went perfectly with the red of the beach huts. I put matching red piping around the edge of the cushion too.

I've also made a few more bibs using Jessica's fab 'bapron' tutorial. They are quick to make and I really love choosing the fabric and the matching binding. These make such great presents.

I think some jewellery making might be my project for this afternoon! Hope everyone has enjoyed their long weekend!

Mismatched set

A friend of mine asked me to make a purple set for them to give as a present. Here is what I came up with (the colour in the photos is a little distorted due to my terrible photography 'skills') :

I usually make things that are very symmetrical and ordered so it was nice to make something a bit different.  I have such a huge stash of beads of all different shapes, sizes and colours. I think I might get to work on a few more items similiar to these! What do you think?
